Mobile classroom in Romania
ETHOS open hands, a non-profit institution, took up our idea and contacted us. A "mobile classroom" was brought in mid-June by one of our drivers to Craiova, the largest city in the historic region of Small Wallachia, capital of Dolj County.
There ETHOS open hands runs a school and a kindergarten. The bus was handed over and will be prepared for use in the coming weeks. "We now have to assemble our pedagogical team and train them for the mission," said Yvonne Schwengeler, chairwoman of ETHOS open hands. The bus will be a valuable tool to improve education among the Sinti and Roma, as many people there unfortunately still cannot read and write.
